Off-Road Autonomy Visual Lab privacy policy.

Privacy details for the offline-first educational terrain simulator developed by Academy4Tech.

This policy explains how Off-Road Autonomy Visual Lab (the “App”) handles information. The App is an offline-first educational terrain simulator. It teaches off-road perception, mobility, route planning, recovery, and field validation. It is not a safety-certified vehicle controller.

Summary

Learning records are stored in private app storage and are not uploaded by Academy4Tech in the initial release. Android backup or device transfer may copy them through the service selected on the device. Google Mobile Ads and the User Messaging Platform may process network, device, advertising, interaction, and diagnostic data. Cloud, remote code execution, AR, and real-robot integrations are disabled.

Information stored on the device

The App stores lesson completions and bookmarks, quiz attempts, flashcard review schedules, mastery and certificate progress, locally saved mission configurations and validation checklists, teacher assignments, report content, and display, language, learning-level, accessibility, and control preferences in private app storage.

Academy4Tech does not receive this learning information in the initial release. Android backup or device-transfer features may copy private app data through the service selected in the learner’s Android settings. That service’s privacy terms apply to its handling of a backup.

The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display a small banner and Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request and manage privacy choices where required. The banner can be hidden for the current session. Hiding it does not withdraw advertising consent; a separate Privacy choices control remains available.

Google states that its Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect or share IP address (which can estimate general location), device and account identifiers including advertising identifiers when permitted, ad interactions, and diagnostic information. Google may use this information for advertising, analytics, performance measurement, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and security. Review Google’s Privacy Policy and its Mobile Ads data disclosure.

The App asks UMP to refresh consent information on each launch and requests an ad only when the SDK reports that ads may be requested. Release builds use Academy4Tech’s configured AdMob identifiers, published consent messages, target-audience treatment, and regional settings; development builds use Google’s official test identifiers.

Children and target audience

The initial release is intended for secondary, vocational, university, and adult robotics education and is not intentionally directed to children under 13. The App does not ask for a learner’s name, birth date, email address, precise location, or account. Academy4Tech must complete the Google Play Target audience declaration and all applicable Families requirements before publishing to an audience that includes children. Learners and teachers should not enter identifying student information in free-text project names or exported reports.

Permissions and integrations

The initial release requests internet and network-state access for consent and advertising. The simulation generates terrain and does not read the device’s real GNSS location. Disabled AR and robot integrations do not request camera, location, Bluetooth, or nearby-device permission. Any future integration will explain its data use and request only the relevant Android permission at the point of use.

Exported reports

A learner can create a report using Android’s system document picker. The learner chooses where it is saved and controls later sharing. Academy4Tech does not automatically receive the report. Reports may contain a mission configuration, validation status, simulation measurements, and learner-entered text, so personal information should only be entered when the learner intends to share it.

Retention and deletion

Local information remains until the learner deletes an available item, clears the App’s storage in Android settings, or uninstalls the App. Exported reports can be deleted from their chosen storage location. Google retains advertising and consent data under its own policies and the learner’s Google and device privacy controls. The initial release has no Academy4Tech cloud account or account database to delete.

Security and international processing

Local records use Android app-private storage. User-directed exports use Android’s Storage Access Framework; the App does not request broad storage access. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. Google advertising and consent services may process information outside the learner’s country. Local learning records stay on the device unless Android backup/device transfer or a manual export moves them.

The About screen links to Academy4Tech’s website, LinkedIn, GitHub, YouTube, email, and Google privacy interfaces. Opening a link leaves the App, and the external provider’s policy applies.

Changes

Academy4Tech may update this policy when the App, integrations, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated. This policy must be reviewed before enabling accounts, analytics, cloud synchronization, hosted classroom features, remote code execution, AR uploads, or real-robot services.
